Sadly, Kendyl fell off her bike and broke her leg.
It has been so hard and so exhausting for the past month.

--After a doctors appointment, we went to Orange Leaf. Kendyl learned how to roll herself around by herself with the wheelchair and she was going around and around (we were the only ones there so we weren't disturbing anyone)
--Picture of Kendyl passed out after Orange Leaf (she NEVER sleeps during the day)
--Pictures of our 11 year anniversary
--Picture of Kendyl and grandma
--A really sweet note from one of my very good friends (because it's been really hard going through this broken leg ordeal)

Right Side: Pictures from the mall

Left Side Close Up
It was such a gorgeous day and my bottle brush (my favorite flower) was in full bloom. Also practicing with the macro and aperture settings

Right Side Close Up
Other than the doctor and Orange Leaf, Kendyl would not leave the house. She didn't want people starring. She also can't walk at all - she can't put any pressure on her leg. So we have to carry everywhere. Getting out of the house and into the car is an ordeal. It's painful and takes a long time. We finally got her to go to the mall. We went to American Girl for lunch and then to Build-a-Bear. She had so much fun and it was so nice to see her smiling and laughing. There have been a lot of tears and being upset.

Full Layout: Sugar Land Skeeters Opening Day
We went with our really good friends and Kendyl's BFF to the baseball game. It was sooooo cold but we had a great time. Trying to keep a smile on my baby's face! :)

Left Side Close Up
Top Row: The team mascots came to game via helicopter - it was so cool
Middle Row: I took a panoramic picture with my iphone (one of my favorite things to do) and cut it to fit in the 4 pockets
Bottom Row: Kendyl got a Skeeters tattoo and took a picture with Swatson

Have to wear the splint for one more week, then she gets a cast.

That's it for this week!

  3. Wow! What a brave little girl. I broke my leg skiing when I was 6 and had a cast up to my thigh so this brought back many memories. Glad it looks like she may not need surgery. Happy healing!

  4. Wow that is rough! My son just learned how to ride his bike without training wheels and is still pretty wobbly on it. Sometimes I wish I could just keep him in a bubble so he can't get hurt! Your pages look great though. onehappymommyof2@gmail.com

  10. Wow - your daughter has had a rough time, poor thing! My daughter had foot surgery in November last year and we went through a lot of the same things - no weight on the foot for 12 weeks! It was quite a challenge, but we managed to make it through. Thank goodness kids are so resilient. Good thing she doesn't need surgery. Hopefully she heals quickly and is back on that bike this summer!
